Welcome to the Department of Public Health at the University of Baltistan, Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. Public Health is about helping people to stay healthy, and protecting them from threats to their health. The government wants everyone to be able to make healthier choices, regardless of their circumstances, and to minimize the risk and impact of illness.

Public Health is an emerging discipline and department at the University of Baltistan Skardu is one amongst very few establishments in the public sector universities in the country. The aim of the program is to educate the community about their health and enhance its impact on the country’s economy by various means. We are confident that the University of Baltistan, Skardu will contribute to the improvement of health through research, teaching, and the provision of advice in the areas of health policy, health systems and services, and individual, social and environmental influences on health.
