Introduction
Established in 2012, the Directorate of Information Technology at the University of Baltistan (UoBS) has been the cornerstone of the institution's digital transformation, distinguished by its development of a comprehensive, in-house Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system tailored to the university's unique needs.
The Directorate's critical role was particularly evident during the pandemic, when it enabled a seamless asynchronous learning environment that ensured uninterrupted education for both faculty and students. This dedication to technological advancement culminated in UoBS being recognized as a Smart University under the HEC's Smart University Project, a testament to its success in fostering a modern digital learning ecosystem that elevates educational experiences and operational efficiency.
Today, the directorate continues to drive this mission by meticulously managing the university's entire network infrastructure and leading all in-house software development initiatives.

ERP Enhancements – QEC Module
Successfully developed and integrated the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) module into the ERP, enabling comprehensive student and teacher evaluations along with automated evaluation reports.
ERP Enhancements – Accreditation Module
Designed and implemented an Accreditation module facilitating digital management of course folders and ensuring full compliance with NCEAC accreditation requirements.
ERP Enhancements – Student Reports
Introduced various customizable student report formats to meet the evolving data requirements of HEC and other regulatory bodies.
ERP Enhancements – Accounts Module
Upgraded and optimized the Accounts module in close coordination with the Treasurer's office to align with updated financial procedures and requirements.
Smart Classroom Establishment
Established a state-of-the-art Smart Classroom in collaboration with Sukkur IBA and LUMS, funded by the European Commission, to promote technology-enhanced learning.
Data Center Establishment
Designed and commissioned a modern, state-of-the-art Data Center to centrally host and manage the ERP system and network services for students, faculty, and staff.
New Campus Network Infrastructure
Planned and executed the complete network setup for the UoBS new campus, ensuring seamless digital connectivity from day one.
Fiber Optic Connectivity
Successfully extended high-speed fiber optic connectivity to the new campus, integrating it with the university's main switch-to-switch backbone established in late 2024.
